The Categories section is used to categorise items by their category. This can be helpful for organising and managing your products. By grouping items by their categories, you can make it easier to browse and search for specific items.
To set up your Categories, open your Dashboard and head over to
Inventory > Categories
Adding New Categories
To add a new category, click on the '+' button
You will need to provide the details for the following fields
The breakdown of the fields are as follow
Field | Usage |
Name | The name of the category |
Parent Category | The parent category for this category |
Image | The image of the category |
Deleting of Categories
To delete existing categories, select the categories that you want to delete, followed by the "trash" icon. This will remove the selected categories from the system.
It's important to note that when you delete a parent category, any child categories that are associated with that parent will also be deleted.
Deleting of Child Category
In the example above, only the category 'iPhone' will be removed from the 'Electronic' category
Deleting of Parent Category
In this example, all the categories associated with 'Electronic' category will be deleted.
Exporting of Categories
You can export the list of categories that you have configured to an Excel file by clicking the "export" icon and then selecting "Export Data". This will generate a file containing the relevant data, which you can then save and use as needed.
Importing of Categories
You can use the "Import Data" feature to quickly and easily add/update large number of categories in the system. To do this, you will need to upload an Excel file containing the relevant data, and the system will use this data to update the categories accordingly.
