Setting Up Options

This guide walks you through how to properly set up your options in Equotix One for a hawker-style POS setup.

Common Hawker Options can be things like

• Size (Normal / Large)
• Add-ons (Extra Meat, Egg, Rice)
• Spice Level
• No Onion / No Chili

Steps

1. Go to Dashboard
2. Navigate to Inventory > Options
3. Click the '+' (Add Options) button

Options Setup Guidelines

In this example, we are going to create an Add-on option which allows us to perform the following option values

• Extra Rice
• Extra Meat

Based on the configuration above, we can select up to two option values (extra rice and extra meat), or nothing at all.

Note: 

By setting the minimum selections to 0, it means that the option value is optional.

The maximum selections determines how many of that option value can be added (this is limited by your option's Required Selections (Maximum)

Another example of using Options is for items that requires customisation.

Example: Spicy Level

For items where customers can choose their preferred spice level, you can configure an option such as Spicy Level

Based on the configuration above, the Spicy Level option is set as a required option.

This means that one option value must be selected before the item can be added to the cart. The order cannot proceed unless a selection is made.

Tips:

Requiring the option ensures that the kitchen or preparation staff will always receive clear instructions on the customer's preference, reducing mistakes and the need for manual clarification.
