A credit note is a document issued by a seller to a buyer, indicating that the buyer is entitled to a credit or refund for goods or services that have been returned or not delivered as agreed.
Note: This feature is only supported for Equotix POS.
To manage your Credit Notes, open your Dashboard and head over to
Sales > Credit Notes
Adding New Credit Notes
To add a new credit note, click on the '+' button
You will need to provide the details for the following fields
The breakdown of the fields are as follow
General
Field | Usage |
Related Order ID | The order ID of the order that you would like to create the credit note for. You can search for the order ID and it will populate the fields accordingly |
Channel Order ID | The order ID based on the channel that this order belongs to |
Channel | The Equotix POS sales channel to create the credit note |
Customer | The customer account that you would like to create the credit not for |
First Name | The first name of the customer |
Last name | The last name of the customer |
Company | The company of the customer (if any) |
The email of the customer | |
Telephone | The telephone number of the customer |
Telephone 2 | The second telephone number for the customer |
Product | Select the products to create the credit note for |
Payment

The currency in which the credit note is created in |
Currency Value | The currency value for the selected currency |
Upon clicking 'Refund', you will have to select the refund payment method to complete the process.
Updating Credit Note Status
You can update the credit note's status by clicking on the view icon
You can then select the credit note status that you would like to update to as well as add any order comments necessary.
Deleting of Credit Notes
To delete existing credit notes, select the credit notes that you want to delete, followed by the "trash" icon. This will remove the selected credit notes from the system.
In the example above, the credit note #2 will be removed from the system.
Printing Credit Notes Receipts
You can print the credit notes receipt. To do so, select the credit notes that you would like to have the receipt printed, followed by Print Receipts.
You will have to choose the invoice template in which you would like to have the receipt printed in. The invoice templates can be configured in the extensions section.
Email Credit Notes Receipt
You can email the credit notes receipt to the customer. To do so, select the credit notes that you would like to have the receipt emailed, followed by Email Receipts.
You will have to choose the invoice template in which you would like to have the receipt emailed in. The invoice templates can be configured in the extensions.
Note: You are required to have at least 1 invoice template to perform print or email. To create the invoice template, open Integration > Extensions > Invoice Template > Add
